Dr. Arun Kantamneni, “Dr. K”, completed his training Residency in 2011 at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2013. He trained as a research fellow during his psychiatry residency and child and adolescent fellowship. Dr. Kantamneni is board-certified in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to his leadership and practice at Bridgepoint, Dr. K is also the Director of Adolescent Psychiatry at a local psychiatric hospital. Dr. K enjoys educating future psychiatric providers and has taught Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows from Emory University and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner students from Georgia State University and the University of Alabama- Birmingham.
Dr. Kantamneni’s demeanor is warm and calming. His communication is direct and he creates an environment of acceptance for all of his patients. Dr. K works with individuals ages 4-64 and he creates an individualized treatment plan with each patient. Dr. K stands out from other psychiatric providers in his work with teens. He keeps his adolescent patients engaged in their recovery by including both, teens and parents, in the treatment planning process and honoring the need for autonomy and inclusion.
In his free time, Dr. K enjoys spending time with his family. A former collegiate athlete, Dr. K loves to stay active by playing Cricket and he always cheers for India’s National Cricket Team. He takes an annual trip with a large group of family and friends.
